Del gènere Ipomoea, en català a vegades anomenat ipomea, no hi ha cap espècie autòctona a les Balears. És un gènere sobretot tropical. A Eivissa i Formentera es poden trobar algunes espècies en jardins i també naturalitzades com ara Ipomoea purpurea d’origen americà. I conreat al camp es pot trobar Ipomoea batatas, el moniato.

Del género Ipomoea, en castellano a veces llamado campanita, no hay ninguna especie autóctona en las Baleares. Es un género sobre todo tropical. En Ibiza y Formentera se pueden encontrar algunas especies en jardines y también naturalizadas como Ipomoea purpurea de origen americano. Y cultivado en el campo se puede encontrar Ipomoea batatas, el boniato.

Von der Gattung Ipomoea, der Prunkwinde, gibt es auf den Balearen keine heimische Art. Es handelt sich um eine hauptsächlich tropische Gattung. Auf Ibiza und Formentera kann man einige Arten in Gärten und auch verwildert finden, so etwa die amerikanische Art Ipomoea purpurea. Und auf Äckern kultiviert kann man Ipomoea batatas, die Süßkartoffel, finden.

Of the genus Ipomoea, the morning glory, there is no native species on the Balearics. It is a chiefly tropical genus. On Ibiza and Formentera some species can be found in gardens and also escaped into the wild, like the American species Ipomoea purpurea. And grown in fields there can be found Ipomoea batatas, the sweet potato.
