Carthamus lanatus, l’assota-Cristos o el card de sang, té una àrea d’Europa -sobretot meridional- fins a l’Índia. A Eivissa i Formentera creix a camps i a vores de camins. És anual i floreix de maig a juliol. El dispersa el vent.

Carthamus lanatus, die Wollige Färberdistel, hat ein Areal von Europa – vor allem Südeuropa – bis nach Indien. Auf Ibiza und Formentera wächst er auf Feldern und an Wegrändern. Er ist einjährig und blüht von Mai bis Juli. Ausgebreitet wird er vom Wind.

Carthamus lanatus, the downy safflower, has an areal from Europe – mainly Southern Europe – till India. On Ibiza and Formentera it grows on fields and at the edges of tracks. It is annual and flowers from May to July. It is dispersed by the wind.
